About Cancer Services

Our Role

Cancer Services in Northern Sydney Central Coast Health provide a full range of cancer care services that is accessible to all in the Northern Sydney and Central Coast Health areas. Our aim is to continually improve the quality of care provided and to ensure the best possible outcome for cancer patients.

Clinicians work together in multi-disciplinary teams to provide coordinated, comprehensive and individualised care to patients while providing the most advanced treatments.

Cancer Services provide evidence based and multi-disciplinary care, backed up by support from ambulatory services. Cancer Services aim to enhance patient, carer and family quality of life through:

• Improved access to the most appropriate care, in the most appropriate setting
• Enhanced consumer and carer knowledge, allowing fuller participation in decision-making and care
• Coordination of care across the hospital / community / office practice and public / private interfaces
• Consistently appropriate clinical practice
• Readily available multidisciplinary care
• Access to participation in clinical trials with better patient outcomes

Our Vision

The vision of Cancer Services at Northern Sydney Central Coast Health is to realise a patient centred cancer care by providing the best possible care through clinical networks, involving multiple geographic sites and supported by modern information technology and management process. Systems are established to better understand the patients' cancer journey and to make this journey easier for the patients.
