Help and Support
Cancer patients and their carers at Northern Sydney Health can access cancer support programs offered by Cansupport at Royal North Shore Hospital and by The Manly Hospital and Community Health Services at Manly Hospital.
Counselling services are also offered by the Social Work Department on a needs basis. Patients can also receive psychosocial support through the services of the psychologist located at Royal North Shore Hospital.

Support for carers is available through the Commonwealth Carer Resource Centre. The Commonwealth Carer Resource Centre also provides support to young carers.
Home and Community Care (HACC) Services are available to frail aged and disabled Consumers and/or Carers based on need. The Commonwealth Carelink Centre provides information about community and aged care services in your local area and how to contact them.
The NSW Cancer Council runs Telegroup sessions for young people aged 10 to 18 whose parent is affected by cancer.
The Commonwealth Carer Respite Centre works with individual carers who live in Northern Sydney to plan respite options that suit the needs of the carer and the person they care for.
Ryde-Eastwood Financial Counselling Service offers free community service which assists people who are experiencing financial difficulties or who need information relating to credit and debt.
Cancer Voices NSW is a peak advocacy organisation providing a unified voice for all people affected by cancer in New South Wales (Australia). Members belong to cancer advocacy and support groups; Cancer Voices NSW is an umbrella coalition for their combined activities. Cancer Voices NSW welcomes individuals, carers and cancer care professionals.
